I had the real privilige of having great seats (and company!) to see James Thiérrée’s ‘Raoul’ tonight at the Barbican. An incredibly gifted actor, acrobat, poet and musician, this almost completely solo show was the most emotive and confident peice of circus theatre I have seen in a very long time. In turn hilarious, melancholy, thrilling and poignant, it’s just stunning how much comic timing, physical prowess and near-silent genius one indivudial can display. I’m still smiling.
