This week’s second book purchase: Adam Dant’s stunning metre-wide exhibition catalogue from his 2003 Drawing Room exhibition “The people who live on the plank”.
Each of the drawings - some larger than two metres in width - contain a matrix of circular interconnected vignettes that wordlessly portray scenes from everyday life.
I’m told by Nadya Peixoto, manager of the excellent BookArt Bookshop in Old St, London, that Dant gained notoriety around east London for producing a daily illustrated journal and handing it out wherever he happened to be. The works here are a testament to his observational talents.
